The Workshop:

The world is facing many challenges today, such as the rising protectionism of states; rising costs but decreasing profits of business; worsting environment for social investment, production and sale, weakening entrepreneurship and innovation. Innovation occurs occasionally, but global economy has to face more and more challenges, in order to sharply tackle the challenges, innovation also need policy support and could be planned. For example, how to attain an environment-friendly economic growth, this is to be achieved by innovation, and this innovation could be planned and enforced with policy consideration. Thus, the effect of government policy upon entrepreneurs and innovation, is deserve to be analyzed. China is another important example for analysis of entrepreneurship and innovation. State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in China have long been lacking of innovation and remain low efficiency, the agricultural sector is lack of innovation in industrial operation and weak in risk resistance ability, and meanwhile there is less sense of entrepreneurs’ service in Chinese social governance and government operation. It is well known that innovation has three dimensions: institutional innovation, organizational innovation and technology innovation, the influence of the two dimensions to the society has to be supported by the entrepreneurship. This workshop is planned after the Trento workshop (The Realm of Entrepreneurship: the local  Perspective) in March 2017, the main purpose of this workshop is intend to make further comparative research on entrepreneurship and innovation, the debates will continuously be focused on the three important economies: the emerging economy (China), independent developed market economy (the USA), integrated developed market economy (the EU), so as to improve social cognition of entrepreneurship and innovation, and create new research collaborations among partner universities and better serve enterprises and international societies.
